Dear Detroit HBCU Network Family and Friends,

We’re excited to invite you to support our “Class is in Session” Scholarship Fund—a one-of-a-kind initiative empowering HBCU students from Metro Detroit.

This isn’t your traditional scholarship. No essay. No GPA. No special talent. Instead, students are selected based on their ability to “work the room”—connecting authentically with alumni from over 30 HBCUs. It’s about presence, engagement, and potential.

Thanks to your generosity in 2024, we awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to remarkable students now attending Central State, Clark Atlanta, Florida A&M, and Howard University. For 2025, we’re aiming even higher—and we need your help to make that goal a reality.

Now, we’re adding a personal twist with our new campaign: My Date. My Dedication. My Dollars.

Some dates in life stay with us forever—milestones etched in memory. Maybe it was the day you graduated. The year you pledged your fraternity or sorority. Or the moment you met someone who changed your life at your beloved HBCU.

We invite you to turn that special date into a meaningful donation.

Graduated in 1997? Give $19.97.

Feeling generous? Add a zero—or move that decimal to the right!

Every “DEDICATION” of your “DATE” in the form of “DOLLARS” helps us reach more students, change more lives, and strengthen the legacy of HBCUs for future generations.
Donate today and encourage others to do the same:

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our mission.
